We spent the day yesterday with the Discovery Channel. They're doing a piece on the downwind cart for their Canadian show "The Daily Planet". Unfortunately, this doesn't air in the U.S., but we'll be getting a DVD. We'll certainly try to post the video at that time.
Because the BUFC went significantly faster than our initial goal, we decided it was time to consider making it more aerodynamic. To this end, we developed airfoil fairings for the axle cage and pylons. We also enclosed the top and bottom of the chassis, and added a nose-cone of sorts. Finally, we added wheel covers. We still have some work left to do to improve the aerodynamics, and will post updates as those items are completed.
But we think with the new bits, the new paint, and the new logos, the BUFC has earned its name change to "The Blackbird" (with a nod to Bluebird and Greenbird). The new name narrowly edged out the second contender "White Lightning".
